World Hindi Day is praised on January 10 beginning around 2006 to advance the language at the worldwide stage. The day denotes the commemoration of the main World Hindi Conference which was introduced on January 10, 1975, by the then state leader Indira Gandhi.In any case, the festival of first World Hindi Day was initiated on 10 January 2006 by previous Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

• The former President of India Pranab Mukherjee had conferred awards in different categories for the excellence in different fields pertaining to Hindi at a function in Vigyan Bhavan in Ne Delhi
• Rajbhasha Awards were conferred upon the Ministries, Departments, PSUs and Nationalized Banks.
• Ministry of home affairs in its order dated 25 March 2015 has changed name of two awards given annually on Hindi Divas. 'Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Puraskar' instituted in 1986 changed to 'Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar' and Rashtriya Gyan-Vigyan Maulik Pustak Lekhan Puraskar' changed to "Rajbhasha Gaurav Puraskar".
